This article explains how Prep Center can grant their sub-users access to Prep Client accounts in ScanPower.
Terminology
Throughout this article:
Prep Center = The 3PL warehouse or prep service provider.
Prep Center Sub-User = An individual warehouse employee or packing line login.
Prep Center Client = The customer whose inventory is being processed.
Overview
By default, Prep Center sub-users have access to all client accounts of the Prep-Center and all ship from address of the prep-center.
Managing Multiple Prep Clients
A single PrepCenter sub-user can be assigned access to one or more Prep Clients.
This is useful when warehouse staff manage shipments for multiple customers while maintaining separate client data.
If the Prep-center want its sub-user to access only selected client accounts to perform tasks on behalf of a Prep Client—such as creating shipments, receiving inventory, packing items, or managing batches—the PrepCenter can do the below steps.
Granting Prep Client Access to a PrepCenter Sub-user
Login to 3PL / PrepCenter account.
Go to Manage Team.
Edit the sub-user you want to change permissions for.
Select only the client and addresses for which you want the sub-user to access and Save.
The PrepCenter sub-user will now be able to switch to the assigned Prep Client account and perform actions based on their assigned permissions.
The Prep-Center can also change the permission of the PrepCenter sub-user by selecting the settings in the screenshot below.
What Can a PrepCenter Sub-User Do?
Depending on the permissions granted, a sub-user may be able to:
View Prep Client information
Create and manage batches
Receive inventory
Pack items
Print labels
Create shipments
Manage Purchase Orders
Perform warehouse operations
Removing Access for a PrepClient
To revoke access:
Login as PrepCenter
Open Manage Team.
Edit the desired Prep-Center sub-user.
Deselect the Prep Client from the assigned list.
Save the changes.
The sub-user will no longer be able to access that Prep Client's account.
Troubleshooting
I cannot see the Prep Client.
Confirm that:
The Prep-Center Sub-user has been assigned access to the Prep Client.
The required permissions are enabled.
The user signs out and back in after the changes are saved.
