Understanding “Invalid Currency Code” and Similar Errors in Step 1

Written by Pankaj Singhal

Overview

While creating a batch in Step 1: Confirm Inventory to Send, you may see error messages such as:

Invalid currency code specified. To fix this: (1) check valid currency codes in template documentation; (2) ensure currency matches marketplace requirements; (3) resubmit with correct currency code. For more details, search for error code or error message in the help section of your account.

or other similar error/warnings related to listing data.

These messages may appear critical, but in most cases, they are non-blocking warnings and do not prevent you from continuing your shipment workflow.

What Do These Errors Mean?

These messages are typically listing-level validation warnings received from Amazon. They indicate that:

  • Certain listing attributes (like currency, price formatting, etc.) may not fully match marketplace requirements

  • There may be minor inconsistencies in the data submitted

However, these are not always critical errors for shipment creation.

Can You Still Proceed?

Yes.
If you encounter such messages in Step 1:

➡️ You can still proceed by clicking “Create Shipment Plan”
➡️ The system will allow you to move to the next step (Pack Group / Box Content)

These messages do not block shipment plan creation.

When Should You Fix These?

You may review and correct these messages in Amazon Seller Central if:

  • The listing does not appear correctly on Amazon

  • Pricing or currency is displayed incorrectly

  • You want to ensure complete listing accuracy

If you encounter any issues while proceeding, please feel free to contact customer support for further assistance.
